About us

Our courses are provided by MBM Ventures LLC, trading as Online CPD Academy ("we", "us", "our"). Fire Marshal Training is a trading name operated as part of Online CPD Academy. If you have any questions about these terms or about a course you have booked, you can contact us by email at info@onlinecpdacademy.co.uk.

These terms apply to every booking made through this website. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version in force at the date of your purchase will apply to your booking.

Licence and intellectual property

When you purchase a course, we grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the course content for your own personal learning or for the internal training purposes of the organisation that has booked on your behalf.

All course materials — including text, video, images, assessments and supporting resources — are proprietary and remain our property or that of our licensors. You may not:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or otherwise share the course content with any third party;
  • resell, sub-licence, rent or commercially exploit the materials in any way; or
  • transfer your licence or login credentials to another person.

We keep our courses under regular review and may update, amend or withdraw any course or part of a course at our discretion, for example to reflect changes in legislation or best practice.

Payment

We accept payment by card, bank transfer or cheque. Prices are shown on the relevant course page and are the total amount payable.

Access to a course and to your learning dashboard is granted once full payment has been received and cleared. Where you pay by bank transfer or cheque, access will be enabled after the funds have reached our account.

Access and completion

Access to your learning dashboard begins at the point of purchase. Course credits never expire until they're used — unused course places stay on your account until you assign them to a learner, so you can buy now and enrol staff whenever you're ready.

Once you begin a course, you have up to 190 days to complete it. The course includes an assessment, and you should allow enough time to work through the material and complete the assessment within that period.

If you do not pass the assessment, you can retake it for free as many times as you need until you pass — assessment resits are unlimited and there is no additional charge.

Refunds

A refund is available only where you have not yet accessed the course and you request the refund within 14 calendar days of your purchase. Once a course has been accessed, it is treated as having been used and is no longer eligible for a refund.

If a refund is approved, you must delete any course materials in your possession and you will no longer be entitled to access the course.

Nothing in this section affects any statutory cancellation or refund rights you may have as a consumer.

Liability

Our courses are provided to support fire safety awareness and training. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with a course is limited to the price you paid for that course.

Except as expressly set out in these terms, we give no warranties or guarantees beyond your statutory rights. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. This is standard for UK consumer contracts and does not affect any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country in which you live.
